Thursday Thinkings...

Since my week started on a Wednesday I am all out of whack on the days! I keep thinking today is Tuesday while wishing that it was really Friday. Not to mention I pushed the snooze button about 6 times this morning....oh well at least it's little Friday! 

If you're in the same boat as I am here is some motivation to get you through the rest of your day!

There's something so simplistic about bamboo chairs don't you think? 

For me I'm always reminded of the beach whenever I see them. However, after seeing some of the pictures below they are most definitely not just for the beach! 

Whether you dress them up with a punch of color or leave them stark white I love the affect they have in any room they're in! 

Welcome Back!

I'm sorry I went MIA again! I spent the weekend up in Boston and Portland ME with the boyfriend! 

Although the weather was rainy all weekend we managed to see almost EVERYTHING in Boston in one day. Needless to say I looked like a drowned rat with very sore feet by the end of the day. 

Cheers to a productive week and having a good time trying to get through it!

Thursday Thinkings...

Happy Thursday loves!! 

Today is actually my Friday which makes it even better! I will be flying up to Portland, ME to visit the boyfriend. I'm particularly excited because we're going to take a day trip in to see Boston since it's a long weekend. I've never been before and I LOVE exploring new places and of course trying new restaurants :)

Here are some thoughts to get you through the day! 

Design | Attic Space

I remember when I was growing up my entire family on my mom's side (all 40 or so of us) would get together on Christmas day at my Grand mother's house. Since I have so many cousins we use to go up in the attic and play hide and seek since that's where she would store all of her unused items. We would turn the lights out to make it even more interesting, which of course scared the hell out of me at the time and in turn left a bad impression of attics in my mind. 

However, after looking at some of these pictures I can't imagine not wanting to spend all of my time in an attic if it looked like this! 

Sloped ceilings, exposed beams, wide open space, there's just so much to love about attic living....especially when the lights are on :)

Design | Organization is Key Part Two

As many of you know by now I am slight OCD when it comes to being organized and that's putting it lightly! 

I just like how everything has a place and if you do it right the way you store your items in your office can lead to some very nice design elements/spaces. I love the idea of hiding things in storage boxes or baskets to hide the mass chaos that an office can become. When it comes to boxes and folders I am definitely not afraid of leaving those out in the open as long as they're stylish! 

I am beyond obsessed with these chairs, I mean does it really get any better then the Phillip Stark Ghost chair?!

What are your thoughts on keeping an organized office?

Design | Balconies

For as long as I can remember one of my lifetime goals has been to have a balcony coming off of my bedroom. Picture this...waking up and walking out on your balcony with a fresh cup of coffee to stare out over the water. Can you imagine anything more peaceful then that?! 

That being said even if you can't open a door and walk out onto your balcony, there's something so beautiful about on adorning the front of your house. 

Even wrought iron balconies with ivy and flowers add a sort of elegance to the front of the building!

Maybe one day I can fulfill my dream...until then I can continue to adore them!

Happy Thursday Friends! 

We're one day away from the weekend and for once I have absolutely no plans and I am PUMPED! I cannot wait to sit my butt on the couch and catch up on a little R&R. In the meantime here are some thoughts to get you through the rest of your day! 

Design | Greg Otto

Having grown up in Baltimore I still have a deep love for the city even though I haven't lived there for the past 4 years. It's where my entire family lives, many of my friends from high school still reside there and more importantly it's the home of the Raven's (Superbowl champs 2013!!). That being said I love anything and everything that reminds me of my home city, including my old neighbor and artist Greg Otto. 

I love how bright and bold his artwork is, giving the streets of Baltimore a whole new light. 

He has paintings of storefronts, skyscrapers, monuments and many of his postcards can be found circulating throughout the city. In the past couple of years he has moved onto another city- Chicago- with his pop off the canvas prints. 

I personally have two of his prints hanging in my bedroom and I am obsessed with them!! I guess it's my own personally way of bringing Baltimore to North Carolina.
