Design | Carla Aston

When I stumbled upon this soothing spa like bathroom designed by Carla Aston, an Interior Designer out of The Woodlands Texas, it was love at first sight! The mosaic tiles that ran around the perimeter of the bathroom helped to bring a splash of color to the room while still keeping everything simple, clean cut and fresh. The dark wood of the cabinetry offset the room perfectly and details like the shampoo niches in the shower are nothing short of brilliant.
Who wouldn't want to take a mental vacation at the end of the day in this bathroom?!

Design | Dream Worthy Drapes

Sometimes it takes the smallest design touches to make the biggest difference. Take for example, draperies, I know not a super exciting topic and yes sometimes they can be a pain in the butt to find the one that you fall in love with. Whether it be a pop of color in a neutral palette or sheers that add a sense of whimsy, they can make or break a room! Don't even get me started on all the different kinds of ways you can tie them back or leave them free flowing!
Check out some of the drapes below and then try to tell me that the room would be much better off without them!

Thursday Thinkings

 Happy Friday Eve everyone!!
Here are some motivational thoughts to get you through your day and one step closer to the infamous Friday!

Design | Outdoor Bar

Let's face it in the summer time when the weather isn't unbearably hot the best place to end your day or entertain on the weekends is your back porch. There is nothing more relaxing then propping your feet up, sipping on an ice cold glass of wine and just taking it all in.
When I saw this outdoor space by Sullen Gregory I instantly fell in love. Maybe it's the lighting, or the amazing over sized mirror or maybe it's the adorable console table turned bar! What an amazing idea to turn an ordinary table into a bar and style to your hearts content!
This is definitely going into the future home file!

Currently Coveting: A Way to Beat the Heat

It is still way to hot here in Wilmington which in turn is making me not even want to think about my wardrobe, let alone leaving the sanctity of my air conditioned house to brave the heat!
That being said I've put together my must have beat the heat outfit, it also requires the least articles of clothing which in this heatwave is a bonus!

Design | Krazy Kitchens

Let's face it aside from the bedroom the kitchen is the most important part of the house! It acts as a gathering place for guests when having dinner parties, it's a place to come up with some crazy concoctions for the family and to me it's also a place to relax.
One day I hope to have a giant kitchen with stainless steel appliances, an island, dual stove tops, essentially all the works! But for now my small kitchen will do and I will continue to book mark pages for future inspiration.
See some of the kitchens I currently krave below....

Design | Dining by Design

When I stumbled upon an article in Architectural Digest about the Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) not only did the Interior Designer inside of me fall in love but so did the Catering Manager.
The organization recently hosted it's 15th Annual Dining by Design Fundraiser in New York, which showcased over 40 tabletop designs by some pretty prominent designers.
Not only did it raise $650,000 for charity but it got some wheels in my head turning!
I wish I could do some of these tabletop designs for some of my groups...maybe one day!
Check out some of the amazing tabletop designs below and tell me what you think!

Thursday Thinkings...

I found out this past Monday that my boyfriend accepted a job in Portland, Maine. While it is an amazing opportunity, we've vowed to see each other once a month, Skype once a day and we keep saying it will only be for a year before he's relocated back South. It kind of goes without saying that this has not been a particularly happy week for me!
That being said this weeks Thursday's thinking's may be a little bit sad but I couldn't help finding that they fit my situation perfectly...

Currently Coveting: Summer Chic

It's about 100 degrees here in Wilmington so there's not many fashion options when all you want to do is stay cool...you could wear your bathing suit everywhere but let's face it that can get a little uncomfortable!
Below are some of my favorite summer must have's to not only keep you cool but stylish as well!

Design | California Dreamin'

Have you ever wandered the internet and stumbled upon a picture only to think "Wow I would love to live there!" Granted I get that feeling quiet often but something felt different when I found this newly renovated house by Dirk Denison in California's Carmel by the sea. The house seemed to exude personality, interior rhythm and a sense of serenity.
How can I house do that you ask? Maybe I'm crazy or maybe just maybe this house is just the work of an architectural genius!

Who wouldn't want a courtyard in their house?!

Whats your opinion, does this house not scream serenity? Or am I just crazy?!
