Currently Coveting: Bold Autumn Outfits

As summer comes to a close, now is the time to transition your wardrobe by mixing autumn pieces with your summer wardrobe. While I none of these items are currently in my closet they are a great example of taking a bold summer print top with an equally bold blazer for a polished autumn/winter outfit.
Maybe if I wish hard enough they'll just appear in my closet!!!!

Design | Jessica Helgerson

I recently stumbled upon the work of Jessica Helgerson on Pinterest the other day. A picture caught my eye and when I clicked on it I was taken to her portfolio where I found even more pictures that I liked more then the first. Her work is so light, bright, and clean while mixing in patterns that make her work not overwhelming but amazing.
What do you think? Isn't her stuff refreshing?!

Dish | Chicken and Rice Casserole

This past weekend I went to visit the boyfriend up in Portland, Maine. After a quick peek in his refrigerator my suspicions were confirmed...beer, tea, water and tortillas (typical male fridge). After seeing this pitiful excuse for a refrigerator I decided to load up his fridge! Not only did I make 3 Chicken Pot Pies and 25 Twice Baked Potatoes to freeze and cook later (recipe's can be found on The Test Kitchen of Melissa Fallis) I also whipped up a Chicken and Rice Casserole that was not only easy to assemble, it got the boyfriends stamp of approval and in my book that means it's a keeper!

Ingredients
(3-4) Chicken Breasts
(1/3) Cup Flour
(1/4) Cup Butter
(1) Can Cream of Chicken Soup
(2) Bags of Ready to Serve Rice
(1) TSP of Salt
Dash of Pepper
(1) TBSP Chopped Parsley
(1/2) TSP Celery Flakes
(1/8) TSP Thyme
(1 1/3) Cups of Water

Directions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
While the oven is pre heating melt (1/4) cup of butter in a skillet, roll your chicken in flour and place in with the butter. Continue to cook until the chicken is lightly browned on all sides. Once the chicken is browned, remove and set aside. In the same pan that you cooked the chicken stir in the can of soup, seasoning and water. Stir until the mixture reaches a boil.
In the meantime spread the ready rice on the bottom of a casserole dish, next pour all but (1/3) cup of the soup mixture on top of the rice stirring until moistened. Nestle the chicken in the rice and soup mixture and then top with the remaining (1/3) cup.
Cover and bake for 1 hour or until tender.

Design | Nautical Decor

I've never been a huge fan of Nautical Decor, sometimes I think it can verge on kitschy. However, back in 2011 Coastal Living traveled to Norfolk, Virginia where they invited some of their favorite designer's to build a seaside retreat from the ground up. After discovering their creation I've found a certain allure for nautical decor that fits so seamlessly by the sea!

Currently Coveting: Brights and Blues

When it comes to managing your wardrobe, one of the hardest things can be making the transition from summer to fall. Even though we still have a few more weeks of warm weather it's never to early to start making some fall/winter wardrobe purchases! One of the easiest things to do is ditch your regular jeans and spice up your closet with some bright colored denim. Pair them with simple tops and tee's for the summer and bright accents for the fall!

Design | Farmhouse Sinks

I consider myself a pretty modern person when it comes to interior design so when I first started seeing these farmhouse sinks popping up needless to say I was on the fence. However, after seeing them in multiple settings I find myself intrigued and opening up to the idea.
Farmhouse sink's are for much more then just the farm!

Look how stylish and modern it looks!

I love how the stark whiteness of the sink stands out against the cabinetry!

What do you think?! Do you love them or hate them?!

Dish | Cookies and Cream Dessert Shooters

This past weekend we hosted a baby shower for my adorably pregnant boss! The theme of the shower came easily based on her obsession with milk and her current sweet tooth we all decided to go with a Milkaholic theme. That being said we of course had TONS of desserts in honor of the theme and after seeing these bad boys on pinterest I just knew I had to whip up a batch!
Not only are they delicious and the perfect proportion but they are the easiest things to make!
They are amazing and I can't wait to try out other flavor combinations...next up peanut butter chocolate!

Ingredients
(2) Packages of Reduced Fat Cream Cheese
(1) Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
(25) Oreo's

Directions
In a blender pulse the Oreo's until you end up with a coarse powder and set aside. In a large bowl or mixer beat together the cream cheese until light and fluffy. Add the condensed milk and (2) TBSP of the oreo crumbs and mix until completely combined.
Assemble your shots by putting a small amount at the bottom of the shot glass, followed by (1) TBSP of the cream cheese mixture. Top with a few cookie crumbs and refrigerate for about an hour before serving.
Don't forget a big glass or milk to wash it all down and enjoy!
