Happy Holiday Weekend!

I apologize for the lack of posts these past couple of days!! I've been working for the holidays so I haven't had much time to pop in and say hi! I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing 4th! Have a great long weekend and have a cocktail for me!

Design | Cottage for the 4th!

I think that this cottage would be the perfect place to celebrate the 4th! I mean just look at how cozy everything appears!! I love everything in this cottage from the amazing flooring to the rope handrail on the stairs; I'm slightly beyond obsessed with this numbered dining room chairs. Aren't they just perfect in the most simplest of ways?!

Don't you just love how open and airy his designs feel?! I especially like the way he incorporates a Spanish feel into some of his work! I would love to have a porch like the one shown above!!!

Design | Dining Rooms

Sometimes I feel like dining rooms are more of an after thought. My family had a formal dining room but we always at in the family room at the "dinner table" (don't ask me what the difference is because I have NO idea!). That being said I feel like now a days the dining room is more for decoration purposes then it is for actual use. However, if my dining room looked like any of the below then I'm sure I would use it way more often!! I love how subdued everything is with some pops of color or decorations to make the room stand out even more! 

What are your thoughts?!

Friday Favorites

I apologize for the missed posted yesterday! Can anyone say insane work week this week?! I feel like I haven't been at my desk for longer then 5 minutes each day. Which makes this Friday all the more glorious! I cannot wait to go home, kick my heels off and relax on the couch (I'm thinking Pitch Perfect for the 5th time sounds perfect!). Design | Gallery Walls

There's something comforting in a gallery wall...maybe it's the ability to freely frame anything you want before hanging it up? Or maybe it's unity it brings to a room? Whatever it is I am in love with it! I'm not so sure about hanging everything perfectly straight but it wouldn't be fun if it was easy :)

Wouldn't you love to memorialize some of your favorite shopping trips?! Why not hang those left over bags on the wall so you can remember all the fun you had! 

A random collection of art is always fun too, even art that makes you take a step closer and really look at what's on the walls.
